Open the port on the server, and on any intervening network 'bridges'. This port must be open in the server, or it won't be found by the clients. Check the write privileges for the directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS License Manager\WinNT If the location for this file is protected, then the IAR License Server Tools cannot hand out licenses. The license is stored in a file named lservrc. So open that port, and try again to activate the license. The IAR License Manager communicates with IAR using SOAP over https (port 443). There is a valid license on the server, but clients can not get licenses. There is a license, but it is shown as 'invalid'.There is no server license at the server. The problem that no license is supplied from the server can be due to different reasons. This is quite a radical and time consuming solution for this kind of problem in my opinion.ĭid anyone of you already faced this problem as well? How did you solve it?This information applies to users using the 'IAR License Server Tools' to share licenses over a network. No the problem is escalated to the software specialists at Siemens, and they tell me that a new installation of the ALM will not fix the problem and that I need to deinstall Windows and compeltely reinstall my ES again. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem. I contacted Siemens support and they advised me to uninstall the ALM, delete the almdb.sdf file, and reinstall the latest version of the ALM, which is 5.3 SP3. The entry is either coming from the Automation License Manager API or the Automation License Manager Service. Every time the problem occurs, I have an entry in the application log. Because the problem really started to annoy me, I checked the windows logs for errors.

At the second time I just restarted the ALM service which also fixed it temporary. Then the problem was fixed for a couple of hours. First time this occured I rebooted the PC. After a random amount of time I receive a popup 'Install valid license key', However all neccesary licenses are installed on the ES and I've never experienced this problem before (system is running for about 2 years). Since a few days ago I'm having some problems with the ALM on my virtual ES (PCS7 V8.0 SP2).
